The building, located on Khagani Street next to the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater, previously functioned as the Iraqi Embassy. In recent years, part of the structure was damaged by a fire.

Within the scope of the project, the building will be transformed into an Art Museum that will showcase 252 artworks by Azerbaijani artists. The less damaged main part of the building will be restored, preserving its historical character.

The most damaged sections will be reconstructed in a modern architectural style, using transparent materials such as glass to create a visual contrast between old and new. Elements that remain in good condition will be reused in the new part of the building.

The concept is inspired by projects such as the Canadian Museum of Nature (Ottawa) and Kunstmuseum Moritzburg (Germany), aiming to create a balanced and harmonious dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture.
